"Getting settled in after a busy couple days and wanted to take the time to thank everyone one more time for a fantastic 2018 Fundraiser! BBQ day is always one of my favorites out of the whole year, so it felt awesome to have another one end up successful for us. It’s great to see all of the familiar faces after a long winter and of course take the time to talk to and thank all of the great people who so generously came out to back Proud Motorsports. I guarantee that we could never in a million years run the full season without the fundraiser, so it truly is huge for us.
I feel lucky every day to be in the position I am to compete at Oswego Speedway, but the outpouring of support for that event every year is simply overwhelming. I apologize if I missed anyone on Sunday. It seems like prior to each season I get more and more excited to get back out there. I probably say that every year, but it’s definitely the case. Thanks to all of my friends, family, and fans who stopped by as well as to all the businesses and individuals who so generously donated to help support our race team. They, along with my 2018 sponsors and partners, are all listed at ProudMotorsports.com. We kindly ask that you support those that support racing.
Yet again we had an outstanding amount of help for our fifth benefit, so thanks to my parents Tim and Deborah Beckwith Proud, Larry Proud, Francie Proud, Randy and Mary Ann Groves, Carlene Roy Cook, Alex Borland, Doug Zupan, Scott Lord, Karen Galavotti, Cassidy Proud, Ike, Julia, Lexi, Boomer, and everyone else who worked behind the scenes leading up to April 8 and throughout the day. Hope I'm not forgetting anyone! We could never do it without these amazing people. Special thanks to Grandma again for the Cherry Cookies, which are always a hit, as well as to Scott for the incredible drawings he put together for our raffles!
With fundraising out of the way, we are looking forward to our first show of the season with Dad in the seat at Evans Mills before shifting gears to the Oswego Opener May 26 with the No. 54. We’ll of course be working on getting a certain Supermodified ready as well. I truly enjoy doing this with all of these special people by my side and am very much looking forward to another fantastic summer with my racing FAMILY. I’ve been patient since last September and now there’s just one more month to go, so I can hardly wait any longer. Three second place finishes last year and I’m sick, tired, and done with that crap. We’re ready to close out this deal. I love this group of people we call Proud Motorsports and I’m excited to try to write another success story with all of you in 2018!"
