OSWEGO, NY (May 11, 2022) - Ken’s Body Shop of Oswego has expanded its partnership with Proud Motorsports to serve as primary sponsor of driver Tim Proud and the No. 54 Small Block Supermodified this season.

Proud, who has not been behind the wheel in four years, will race on the full Small Block Super Championship Series in 2022 including this coming Saturday, May 14 at Evans Mills Raceway Park, July 8 at the Chemung Speedrome, September 11 at Lancaster Motorplex, and again on September 17 at Evans Mills.

“Ken’s Body Shop has really gone above and beyond for us this season, first signing on as the primary sponsor of Camden’s Supermodified effort, and after that we were fortunate enough to get them onboard for the races I am going to run also ,” Proud said. “I have worked at Ken’s for the last 30 years and my boss Jeff Jones has supported us every season since, which is pretty amazing. I can not express enough gratitude for what Jeff and his family do to help keep Proud Motorsports going.”

The No. 54 Small Block Super, which is now equipped with a new 602 Killer Crate engine, has not been raced since Proud’s most recent start at Evans Mills in September of 2018.

Proud, a former Supermodified campaigner, who has four top 5 finishes including a runner-up effort in Small Block Super competition at Oswego, returned to pilot son Camden’s ride for four races beginning in 2016. His return to the driver’s seat resulted in a pair of heat race wins and two top 10 finishes, including a fourth place run in the 2018 Evans Mills Fall Brawl.

“I’m pretty excited to get back in the car and have some fun this year,” mentioned Proud. “Danny Kapuscinski has done a great job promoting the new Small Block Super Championship Series. I think it is a pretty cool deal, with a number of races at different facilities that we’re really looking forward to supporting. We’ve had the car sitting around just trying to hang on to it and see what happens, and when we heard about this series, we were selling our old Super, so we decided to put a motor in and get it going. Evans Mills is a great place to start our season, we have a blast up there and every time I’ve run, we have been competitive, so that is a good thing. Thanks to Ken’s, I’m happy to get the chance for some time with my family and do something that I really have fun with every once in a while.”
